PLEASE NOTE:  Because of the nature of early spring weather, it is often impossible to mix soil and compost into a homogeneous mixture. Although compost is biologically active and doesn’t freeze, soil will freeze solid and while thawing becomes muddy and won’t mix well until at least the middle of April or later or earlier depending upon the weather.
